Rare Galaxy type:Cosmic ring of fire

  • Astronomers have spotted a rare galaxy type it roughly existed approx. 11 billion years ago, and it is likely to shake up theory is like formation of galactic structure and how they are evolving. Its shape looks like big doughnut. Its name “Cosmic ring of fire” is described as galaxy R5519. It is roughly the mass of milky way and it’s away by 11 billion light years. It is star forming capacity 50 times faster in the milky way So it truly makes it ring of fire.
  • Astronomers identified the unique galaxy using spectroscopic data gathered by the WM Keck Observatory in Hawaii and images recorded by NASA's Hubble Space Telescope.
                

  • It was announced by Nature Astronomy. Lead researcher yuan from Australia said “R5519 is very curious object, it looks strange and familiar at the same time”. It’s surrounding ring is giving birth to stars worth 80 solar masses every year.
  • It has also big doughnut hole diameter this has distance two billion times between the earth and sun. According to some researcher, it is collisional ring galaxy and it the first located in the early universe.
  • The collisional galaxy is result of immerse and violet encounters with other galaxies.it has 1000 times rarer than those ring galaxies that are formed due to internal processes. So, it means it is extremely uncommon.
  • The collisional formation of ring galaxies requires a thin disc to be present in the victim galaxy before collision occur. The thin disc defines as the component of spiral galaxies before it assembles. It means that the galaxy is in disordered state.
  • In case of ring galaxy, we are looking back into the early universe by 11 billion years, into a time when thin disks were only just assembly. For comparison, the thin disk of our milky way began to come together about 9 billion years ago.
