Our Milky Way Galaxy

• In this article, I give some basic information about milky way.

• Sun and all the planet around the it, is part of a galaxy is known as milky way galaxy. In the galaxy, it contains the lots of stars, planets, gas and dust bound together with gravity.it is large barred spiral galaxy. The best place to see the milky way is Acadia National park Maine U.S.

• The location of earth in milky way is located about 25,000 light-years to the galactic center and 25,000 light-years away from the rim. Solar system is located in Orion Cygnus arm and is measure the 3,500 Ly across and 10,000 Ly in length.

• You might be surprised to learn that it takes the Sun 250 million years to complete one rotation around the Milky Way – this is known as a “Galactic Year” or “Cosmic Year”. The last time the Solar System was in this position in the Milky Way, there were still dinosaurs on Earth. The next time, who knows? Humanity might be extinct, or it might have evolved into something else. 

• It our galaxy is part of and other 54 galaxies and dwarf galaxies are small galaxy composed of stars is all part of  Virgo supercluster.

• The nearest galaxy is Andromeda galaxy. At last the milky way is made of at least 100 billion stars. The stars form a large disk whose diameter is about 100,000 Ly.
