Asteroid belt

This is in between inner and outer planets and in this there are asteroids and some dwarf planets.

Some asteroids are near in earth in the space and some are forced out of the belts by gravity and sent towards the outer solar system.

Dark C(carbonaceous), which makes the are in outer belt and with little hydrogen and helium.
Bright S(silicaceous), which in inner belts and to be metallic iron and magnesium.
Bright M(metallic), which are in middle belts and made up with metallic iron.

• It roughly located in between orbit of Mars to Jupiter and there where vast numbers of asteroids are available.

• In 1801, the Italian priest and astronomer Giuseppe Piazzai accidentally found the first and largest asteroid Ceres orbiting between Mars and Jupiter, now Ceres is called as dwarf planet and his size is around diameter of 950 km.

• This is place it between 2.3 to 3.2 Astronomical unit(AU) from the sun. the asteroid belts is over 600,000 miles, the circumference of earth 24,901 miles which determines the distance between object is 24 times greater than earth.

• The other big asteroids are Vesta, Pallas and Hygiea and the size over the diameter of 400 km. 

• There all four asteroids take an half of mass of asteroid belts and others are size in range of small rock to dust particles.

• It is often refereed as main belt to differentiate the other group of asteroids like a Centaurs and Lagrangians in solar system.
